musing on life

No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Matthew 6:24 (New Living Translation)

Mercy to the needy is a loan to God, and God pays back those loans in full.
Proverbs 19:17 (The Message)

  1. I Am Sorry

I am sorry you are closing your sites.
I am sorry friendship is not enough for you.
I am sorry you choose to cheat yourself
of the pleasure of being an artist.
I am sorry you choose to use scripture—

    not to cleanse yourself—
but to try to make others feel guilty,
and, therefore, do what you want them to do,
    that is; send money.
I am sorry you will not join the many

whose only outlet for their art is the internet
and be happy in spite of it.
Most artists would prefer the gallery over the web,
but few get that dream realized.
I am sorry you want to spend $250

to frame a picture. That’s silly.
    You have no money.
    Try the $10 frames.
    But I am mostly sorry
that if things get tough, you quit.
