Photo ‘Fairy Tales in a Bus Station’ by Tomas Karkalas
I took this photo at the bus station. It wasn’t planed in advance. I just saw the dropped toy and welcomed it as myself. So the title of my pick appeared:
“travelling by bus demands a ticket the fairy tales haven’t.”

The world is a dangerous place.
Not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

photo ‘crazy paving or self-portrait?’ by Tomas Karkalas from Klaipeda, Lithuania
This is the photo I took at a glimpse underfoot, yet its status would depend on your response, what is it? The ‘crazy paving or self-portrait?’
I think these questions will be easier to shell with the insight “While people seek privacy on a web, the artists fight for the publicity” in mind.
It would be beneficial to recall my last post “self-portrait” You will see a stump there, but do not wonder. Once, we all were green sprouts and gladden the eye, yet that youth has grown into a time to retire – the trees were cut and so the stumps have appeared on a road. The meaning depends on our memory. look here …

The windows hide people with the psychiatric disorders from the well-groomed passersby. The case-histories absorb the stories of the wish to be and lock the passions in a secret of the stifling archives behind bars. The heavy silence would reign if not the art therapy …- have a look at the jolly colors below, at the smile in disguise. This picture was made by a patient who didn’t call himself the artist, but silently inhabited the space under the window. I couldn’t pass by so took my camera…

I just had a chat. I was asked: „Hi, Tomas, how are you?“ and I replied: „Hi…I am enjoying an opportunity to say “Hi!” loudly now“.

I bought a lottery ticket. It cost 1$, but I didn’t lose a penny – I win one dollar too. So today became my lucky day: I lost nothing. Was that not a dream?
Thus there are no wonder I didn’t stop buying the lottery tickets – I still have hope to improve my being: to change the sad reality of the living on a disability pension to a sunny today. The lottery is my only way to do that.
